It’s been less than a year since Victor Orta smashed Leeds United’s transfer record.

Orta brought Spain international Rodrigo to Elland Road last summer in a £30 million deal.

And although Rodrigo has struggled for the most part since joining Leeds, it hasn’t deterred the Yorkshire club’s hierarchy from spending big again this summer – or so it seems.

That’s because Team Talk has reported that Orta is interested in signing Real Betis bullet Alex Moreno, who can play left-back or on the left-hand side of attack.

The 27-year-old has impressed for Betis in recent years and according to Estadio Deportivo, has a £35 million release clause in his contract.

If Leeds are genuinely interested, it would require a record-breaking transfer fee, but the Whites could be joined by West Ham United.

The Hammers were reportedly keen last summer and although a move never materialised, Team Talk has added that the East Londoners could renew an interest.
