Report: Leeds want one more signing; Samu Saiz cover targeted

Leeds United are reportedly hoping to make one more signing before the end of the transfer window.

It has been reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post that Leeds have their eye on one more signing during the transfer window, with a player to provide cover for Samuel Saiz on Marcelo Bielsa’s radar.

Bielsa’s men have made a stunning start to the new Championship season. The Whites currently top the table having won four of their first five league games, including a 3-0 victory away at Norwich City at the weekend.

Barry Douglas is the club’s only summer signing to feature regularly during the early stages of the campaign, with Patrick Bamford, Lewis Baker and Jack Harrison starting every league game thus far on the bench. Nevertheless, Bielsa is apparently hoping to add to his ranks in the final days of the window.

The Yorkshire Evening Post reports that Leeds want one more signing and are looking at adding an attacking midfielder who is able to support Saiz in the number 10 role that has been so vital to Leeds’ form at the start of this season.

It may surprise some supporters that Bielsa is not keen to sign a new centre-back given that the options have already been stretched this term, with Luke Ayling moving into the middle to play alongside Gaetano Berardi at Swansea.

But with two clean sheets in the last three games, and with Bielsa clearly wanting his side to ask all sorts of questions in the final third, it appears that the Leeds boss is content with the options he has defensively and wants his side to be even more dangerous going forward.
