Leeds United have reportedly agreed a £3.5 million fee with Burnley for Bailey Peacock-Farrell.

According to a report from the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds plan to sign a new goalkeeper during the final days of the transfer window after agreeing to sell Bailey Peacock-Farrell to Burnley for £3.5 million.
Peacock-Farrell has been linked with a move to Turf Moor for some time now, but The Sun suggested on Wednesday that the Clarets planned to step up their attempts to land the Northern Ireland international with Tom Heaton close to sealing a move to Aston Villa.
The Sun suggested that a £2.6 million bid was set to be made, but it appears that talks have progressed rapidly, with the Yorkshire Evening Post now reporting that the two clubs have agreed a £3.5 million fee for the 22-year-old.
The Yorkshire Evening Post adds that Leeds now plan to sign a new goalkeeper before the transfer deadline, with Kiko Casilla currently backed up by a handful of young stoppers, including Will Huffer and Kamil Miazek.

It is intriguing that Peacock-Farrell has taken a step closer to joining Burnley given that he is determined to secure first-team football. Of course, Sean Dyche’s men can offer the chance to play in the Premier League, but he is competing with Nick Pope who is significantly younger than Casilla so could potentially hold onto the number one spot for a while yet.
With the Yorkshire Evening Post reporting that Peacock-Farrell’s contract was set to expire next summer, some may feel that £3.5 million is a decent price for the youngster. But it certainly puts the pressure on Casilla to prove that he can step up after a disappointing end to last season.
