According to The Telegraph, Leeds United have identified Jesse Marsch as their number one target to replace Marcelo Bielsa if the Argentine is to leave this summer.
The 66-year-old isn’t getting any younger, and after four years at Elland Road, he may now be considering where his future lies.
Bielsa has never been one to stick around for long at any club – he’s already managed Leeds for longer than any other team, and there’s a realistic possibility that he will be looking to move on.
Luckily, Leeds do have a plan in place for if he does leave, and their number one target is Marsch.
The former RB Leipzig manager was fired from his role at the Bundesliga club in December, but despite performing poorly in Germany, Leeds seemingly still hold him in high esteem.
Marsch did a great job with RB Salzburg before making the move to Leipzig, while he also has plenty of pedigree in MLS.
Unfortunately for the Whites, there’s another club keen on Marsch. Marcelo Bielsa’s former side Athletic Club Bilbao also want him, and that would certainly be a tempting proposition for the American.
This certainly seems to be a situation worth keeping an eye on.
