Leeds United have been linked with Frederico Venancio.

According to Portuguese newspaper A BOLA, Leeds United are interested in signing Vitoria Setubal defender Frederico Venancio this summer.
The Whites sacked manager Paul Heckingbottom last week and are pressing ahead with a move to bring in Marcelo Bielsa as his replacement in an audacious swoop.
Whether Bielsa arrives or not, Leeds are in desperate need of reinforcements this summer, particularly in defence as Pontus Jansson needs a proven partner in central defence, and the Swede has been linked with an exit himself.

Now, Portuguese newspaper A BOLA report that Leeds hold an interest in signing Vitoria Setubal defender Federico Venancio, who was on loan at Sheffield Wednesday this past season.
Venancio, 25, has spent the majority of his career with Vitoria Setubal save for a brief spell with Benfica, and his impressive displays in Portugal earned him a move to England with Wednesday last summer.
It remains to be seen whether Wednesday pursue a permanent deal for Venancio, but it’s now believed that Leeds are also eyeing up a move for the Portuguese defender.

The report notes that Venancio wants to stay in England, and Wednesday could look to sign him for around €1million (£870,000), but they may have to move quickly to make sure Leeds don’t hijack them.
Whilst this would be another import for Leeds after so many disappointing signings from Victor Orta, Venancio’s strong season in the Championship suggests he could be ideal for Leeds this summer.
