Leeds United are keen to spark an Argentine revolution with Stuttgart’s Nicolas Gonzalez and Velez Sarsfied’s so-called ‘new Messi’ emerging as targets for the Premier League newcomers, according to Ole.
The party is just getting started at Elland Road.
And once Andrea Radrizzani soothes his sore head after a weakened of flare-filled celebrations in West Yorkshire, Leeds’ Italian owner will be dipping into his extensive contact book to secure some much-needed investment.
After all, the likes of Almada and Gonzalez will not come cheap.
Leeds appear to have identified the Argentine market as one worth plundering for hidden gems and rough diamonds, with Adolfo Gaich, Matias Zaracho and Lucas Martinez Quarta all linked in recent weeks.
Almada, however, could be the most expensive, and exciting, of the lot.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the fleet-footed playmaker is a £20 million target for Arsenal and Barcelona – though whether he is really Lionel Messi’s successor, or merely Bojan 2.0, is anyone’s gugess.
“Almada is much more technical (than Carlos Tevez),” former youth coach Eduardo Hernandez told Clarin.
“Carlitos always stood out for his delivery and his desire. But with the ball, Thiago is better.”

While Almada is a classic Argentine enganche, Gonzalez is more at home as a number nine rather than a number ten.
He scored 15 goals in 29 games as Stuttgart secured promotion to the Bundesliga in 2019/20. Talk about going out on a high.
“I had a wonderful time in Germany, but now I’ve made up my mind: I need a change of scene. I want to leave Stuttgart,” Gonzalez told Tuttomercatoweb last week.
“I’ve already spoken to the club and I’m ready for a new chapter in my career.”
