Report: Leeds walk away from signing £15m star, even though manager wants him out

Leeds United have decided to drop their interest in Tottenham Hotspur defender Juan Foyth, Leeds Live report.

Leeds have already landed Robin Koch this summer, and they apparently now feel that Foyth is no longer a priority target.

Leeds had been strongly linked with the Argentine since before the summer, with some claims suggesting that the deal was very close to being done in Tutto Mercato Web last month.

However, the £15 million central defender (The Sun) is no longer likely to turn up at Elland Road this summer.

Bielsa is happy with his options at centre-back now, after Koch’s arrival, and it seems likely that Leeds will target a younger player to start at the back, rather than Foyth, who would command higher wages.

Foyth’s future is now very much up in the air, as it seems that he has little chance of breaking back into Jose Mourinho’s plans at Tottenham, with The Sun saying the Portuguese boss wants him sold earlier this week.

Foyth has featured very infrequently since Mourinho took charge, and although he is talented in possession, he may lack the basic defensive qualities to be a regular starter at Tottenham now.
