Leeds United are worth £50 million, claims a new report from Insider Media.

The report discusses Leeds’ value after minority shareholders GFH Capital were bought out by Massimo Cellino, who now owns 100 per cent of the club.

The information is released in light of GFH being instructed to declare information for the Dubai Financial Market after the sale of their shares, with the note, “the club’s total enterprise value has reached approximately £50m based on this sale.”

The figure is a potential asking price Leeds owner Massimo Cellino could demand, should rumours of a takeover come to fruition.

The Times reported last week that potential investor Andrea Radrizzani plans to buy the club, with Massimo Cellino likely to retain a minority stake.

Leeds have one of the largest fan bases outside the top flight and a well recognised stadium and rich history, and should be a dream for potential buyers, yet they have failed to attract a rich investor willing to splash the cash and send them back to the Premier League.

For comparison, Aston Villa were bought this summer for £60 million by Tony Xia, The BBC reported.

The Express and Star report Wolves cost Fosun International a figure of £30 million to buy in late July.
