Marcelo Bielsa is apparently willing to sell Leeds United’s Jack Clarke, with Tottenham Hotspur most interested.

Jack Clarke of Leeds United

According to The Sun, Leeds United are willing to sacrifice Jack Clarke in order to raise funds, amid rumours Tottenham Hotspur want to buy him.

The Express have suggested that Tottenham are edging closer to signing Clarke from Leeds, and the Championship club are believed to have made the decision as they need to raise funds.

Leeds are said to feel that they can get a considerable fee for Clarke, and his departure would be better than losing a key player.

Kalvin Phillips has also been linked with a move away from Elland Road, but it seems that the defensive midfielder will be staying.

Clarke could now become Tottenham’s first signing for over a year and a half, as both clubs seem keen on the deal.

It could be a smart decision from Leeds, as selling Clarke won’t impact on their first-team nearly as much as losing Phillips would.

Bielsa is a big fan of Clarke and called him a difference maker last season in One Football, but he doesn’t have the same influence on Leeds’ team that Phillips does.

Clarke has a great deal of talent and, in an ideal world Leeds would have kept him, but if Marcelo Bielsa’s side do need sales, then letting the winger go looks like the sensible choice.
