Leeds United scouts are said to have watched Conor McLaughlin at Euro 2016.
According to a report in the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds United are interested in signing Conor McLaughlin from Fleetwood Town.
Leeds have made contact with Fleetwood over the defender, following his return from Euro 2016 with the rest of the Northern Ireland squad.
The 24-year-old played once for Michael O’Neill’s side at the international tournament, as they reached the knockout stages.
McLaughlin has also shown his ability in League One, where he has been one of Fleetwood’s standout players for a number of seasons.
Fleetwood are said to value McLaughlin at £300,000, with interest rising in the defender.
The right-back is said to be of interest to a number of Championship sides, with Reading linked in the YEP, and HITC bringing news of Wolverhampton Wanderers’, Derby County’ and Cardiff City’s interest.
McLaughlin is also said to be on the wishlist of several foreign clubs.
If McLaughlin did move to Leeds he would be in competition with Gaetano Berardi and Lewie Coyle for a place in Garry Monk’s first team.
