Leeds United are closing in on Real Madrid goalkeeper Kiko Casilla.

According to the Daily Mail, Leeds United’s deal for Real Madrid goalkeeper Kiko Casilla will see them take over the final 18 months of his contract.

The Whites remain top of the Championship table after beating Derby County 2-0 on Friday night, with Marcelo Bielsa’s men really pushing for promotion.

Leeds may need signings to get there though, and another goalkeeper appears to be the top priority during this month’s transfer window.

Bailey Peacock-Farrell continues to develop but remains a little unconvincing at times, whilst loanee Jamal Blackman’s injury saw him return to Chelsea earlier this season.

Now, the Daily Mail report that a deal for Real Madrid stopper Casilla is moving closer and closer, with the contract believed to be for just 18 months.

Leeds are allegedly taking over the final 18 months of Casilla’s Real Madrid contract, and he will be heading to Elland Road imminently.

Casilla, 32, is sitting as Real’s third-choice goalkeeper right now, behind Thibaut Courtois and Keylor Navas, with the Spaniard now deciding to leave the Santiago Bernabeu in order to play first-team football at Leeds.

A former Spain international, Casilla starred with Espanyol before heading to Real, and will hope to play a key part in Leeds’ push for promotion between now and the end of the season.
