Leeds may be set to receive an unexpected cash injection.

Championship outfit Leeds United will receive around £1.7 million if Everton’s £17 million pursuit of Kasper Schmeichel comes into fruition, according to reports from the Yorkshire Evening Post.
Kasper Schmeichel was arguably one of the stars of the Premier League last season and he had a crucial role to play in helping Leicester City claim the title against all odds.
Schmeichel’s performances understandably impressed many and according to recent reports from the Liverpool Echo, Everton are planning a swoop for the Danish international.

Everton boss Ronald Koeman is currently in the market to sign a new goalkeeper following the departure of the long serving Tim Howard at the end of last season and the Dutchman has already moved on to secure the services of Maarten Stekelenburg from Fulham.
However, Stekelenburg is most likely going to be only a backup option and claims have been made that Koeman is keen on signing Schmeichel as his number one choice between the sticks for the upcoming campaign.
Leicester will surely not want to lose Schmeichel but reports have claimed that Everton are ready to splash as much as £17 million to sign the 29-year-old.

Such a huge amount will surely be difficult for Leicester to resist and there is now a strong possibility that the transfer will go through, especially with the Foxes having sign World Cup winner Ron-Robert Zieler recently.
If indeed Schmeichel’s transfer to Goodison Park does come into fruition, Championship side Leeds United will also receive a major boost.
Schmeichel was signed by Leicester from Leeds back in the summer of 2011 and according to reports from the Yorkshire Evening Post; the Whites had placed a 10 per cent sell-on clause in any future transfer of the goalkeeper away from the King Power Stadium.
Therefore, Everton’s potential £17 million deal for Schmeichel will land Leeds a cool £1.7 million and the cash windfall would most certainly be welcomed by owner Massimo Cellino.
