Report: Leeds United striker Caleb Ekuban joins Trabzonspor permanently

Caleb Ekuban spent the 2018-19 season on loan at Trabzonspor from Leeds United.

According to Sabah, Caleb Ekuban is set to join Trabzonspor on a permanent contract from Leeds United in the summer transfer window.

Ekuban spent the 2018-19 campaign at Turkish club Trabzonspor on loan from Leeds in the Championship in England.

It has been reported that Trabzonspor have paid the Whites a transfer fee of €1 million (0.88m) to make the loan deal for the striker permanent.

It has also been reported that the 25-year-old has signed a three-year contract with the Turkish club and will earn €750,000 (£662,815.15m) per year as salary.

Leeds United exit

Ekuban played well for Trabzonspor in the second half of the season, and it does make sense for the striker to extend his stay at the Turkish club.

According to WhoScored, the striker made 12 starts and 17 substitute appearances in the Turkish Super Lig this season, scoring five goals and providing two assists in the process.

The Ghana international joined Leeds from Chievo in the summer of 2017, but the striker failed to make a massive impact at Elland Road during the 2017-18 campaign.
