However, the YEP insist that Leeds still have the 26-year-old centre-back on their wishlist.

Leeds took Bartley on loan from Swansea last season, and he impressed hugely during his time at Elland Road.

Bartley’s solid partnership with Pontus Jansson was a major reason for Leeds’ success last term.

Leeds have now kept Bartley on their wishlist, but any deal remains complicated.

Bartley has previously suggested that he would only return to Leeds if Monk was to stay on.

Monk’s Middlesbrough side are also said to be interested in the defender, and Swansea have previously suggested that Bartley could stick around at the Liberty Stadium next term.

Bartley made 40 appearances for Leeds over the past campaign, and he became a real fans’ favourite at Elland Road through the quality of his performances.
