Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson has struggled in his second Championship season at Elland Road.

The Pontus Jansson of last season was pretty much the perfect example of a cult hero.
Hugely passionate and perhaps criminally underrated outside of Elland Road, the brick-nutting Swedish centre-back’s partnership with Swansea City loanee Kyle Bartley was a fearsome proposition for rival strikers. So Leeds did not wait around to make Jansson’s loan deal from Torino permanent, signing a contract at Elland Road until 2020 back in February.

But, this season, Janson has been a shadow of his former self – ever since Bartley returned to Swansea and manager Garry Monk bid his farewells.
The West Yorkshire giants paid around £3.5 million to keep him at Elland Road – and TEAMtalk claim that they now value him at around £12 million.

Based on Jansson’s performances this season, Leeds would be laughing all the way to the bank if they earned an eight-digit transfer fee for the increasingly error-prone 27-year-old
But it will be interesting to see whether any clubs from the Premier League are willing to overlook Jansson’s difficult second season in English football.
