According to The Daily Mail, Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford has spent ttime studying Edinson Cavani.
Cavani, who joined Manchester United on a free transfer this summer, is one of the best strikers in the world, and banged in the goals for fun during his time at Napoli and Paris Saint-Germain.
The Daily Mail has stated that Bamford studied Robin van Persie as well, with the Leeds star saying about the ex-United and Arsenal striker: “His movement was exceptional.”
The report has added that Bamford ‘admires’ former Chelsea striker Diego Costa as well.
Patrick Bamford Stats
Bamford has scored three goals and provided one assist in four Premier League matches for Leeds so far this season, according to WhoScored.
During the 2019-20 campaign, the 27-year-old scored 16 goals and provided two assists in the Championship, and back in 2018-19, he scored nine goals and provided two assists in the league, according to WhoScored.
Learning from the best
Cavani is – or at least was in his prime – a world-class striker, while Van Persie starred for both Arsenal and United.
Bamford is 27 years of age, but the Englishman seems to be willing to learn and develop his game further.
Watching the likes of Cavani, Van Persie and Costa will only help Bamford get better, and so will working on a regular basis with Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa.
