According to Afrique Sports, Leeds United think that £2 million for Liverpool youngster Yasser Larouci is too much.
It has been reported that Leeds – who will play in the Premier League next season after winning automatic promotion from the Championship – are interested in signing the 19-year-old left-back in the summer transfer window.
However, according to the report, Premier League champions Liverpool are asking for £2 million as transfer fee for the teenager, and the Whites deem it too expensive and are not willing to pay.
Goal.com reported last month of interest in the youngster from Leeds, with the report adding Brentford are also in the race for the teenager.
Sensible stance?
Larouci is a very talented and promising young left-back, but £2 million does seem a lot to pay for a teenager for a club who have just returned to the Premier League.
True, Leeds will have a lot of money to spend this summer, but they need to be sensible about it.
Stuart Dallas has done admirably well at left-back despite being a winger by trade, while Barry Douglas remains a capable footballer.
If Leeds do want to sign a left-back this summer, then they should look at established players who will make an instant impact in the team.
