Leeds United are said to be keen on Osasuna midfielder Fran Merida.

Leeds have sent scouts to watch the 27-year-old who plays for Osasuna this season, with the Whites interested in bringing him to Elland Road.
Leeds have had great success purchasing from Spain since Victor Orta took charge of transfers, with Samu Saiz making a huge impact with the Yorkshire club.

And there is a feeling that Merida’s arrival at Leeds would help to improve Thomas Christiansen’s midfield options even further.
Merida has not played in England since 2010, after he left Arsenal as a youngster in search of more first-team football.

Merida is now an experienced pro, with a number of La Liga games under his belt, and there is a feeling he could significantly improve Leeds’ creativity.
Leeds are already top of the Championship, but may be willing to invest in January, to try and ensure they remain in the automatic promotion fight.
