Leeds United fans have been left feeling cheated by the attitude and behaviour of their left-back Charlie Taylor. He is out of contract in the summer and is wanted by a number of Premier League clubs. With Leeds’ chances of promotion to the top-flight over, he refused to play in the club’s final game of the season v Wigan Athletic last weekend.

It has immediately made him into a villain figure at Elland Road and, despite his talent, many fans will now be pleased to see him go.

West Brom are currently the favourites to sign him, but another team reported to be interested in signing the Bosman full-back are a side that Leeds fans would never forgive him for joining.

According to Fotospor the 23-year-old is wanted by Turkish side Galatasaray.

Leeds have a fractious relationship with the Turkish club after the tragic stabbing deaths of Kevin Speight and Christopher Loftus in fan violence in Istanbul before a UEFA Cup semi-final in 2000. The way the Turkish club handled the issue left an ineradicable stain on Galatasaray as far as Leeds fans are concerned.

Harry Kewell, for example, will never be forgiven for joining the club later in his career.

The report from Fotospor suggests that Taylor is second-choice for Gala in their hunt for a left-back, behind Hamburg star Matthias Ostrzolek. It also makes it clear that Galatasaray understand it would be hard to sign the Leeds player, considering the history between the two clubs.

Taylor has already put an indelible mark on his Leeds career with his actions recently, he will surely not make it permanent by moving to Istanbul this summer.
