Leeds United are monitoring another Bundesliga based striker.

Leeds United are tracking Hannover striker Charlison Benschop, according to Voetball Primeur.

Benschop’s contract at the Bundesliga side expires at the end of the season and he will be available on a free.

Leeds are not the only club interested in Benschop, with Fortuna Dusseldorf and Japanese side Yokohoma City also keen.

Benschop has been out of favour at Hannover this season, making only five league starts. He has scored just one goal.

The striker is a former Dutch under-20 international and has one senior cap for Curacao.

The 28-year-old has been at Hannover since 2015, signing from Dusseldorf where he scored 25 goals in a two year spell.

His recent record is far from convincing. In three years at Hannover, he has scored just two goals.

He did score one of these as recently as December, in a defeat to Bayern Munich.

This season Benschop has been used as a winger and a number 10 in addition to leading the line.
