According to The Sun on Sunday (print edition, page 63, July 26, 2020), Leeds United could send Robbie Gotts out on loan to Huddersfield Town.

Carlos Corberan has been appointed as the new Huddersfield head coach following his departure as the Leeds Under-23 coach.

It has been reported by the British tabloid that Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa is considering sending the 20-year-old out on loan for the 2020-21 campaign, and that Huddersfield in the Championship is an option.

Stats

Gotts, who can operate as a midfielder or as a right-back, played six minutes in the Championship and once in the FA Cup for Leeds this season, according to WhoScored.

However, the youngster was in Bielsa’s matchday squad several times during the 2019-20 campaign.

Going out on loan

Corberan knows Gotts well, having worked with him in the Leeds youth team, and it would make sense for Leeds to send the youngster to Huddersfield on loan for next season.

It is hard to see the English youngster play regular first-team football for the Whites in the Premier League next season, and a loan move to a club in the Championship does make sense.
