Leeds United hope to sign Laurens De Bock in time for their next Championship fixture.
The Whites are preparing to host De Bock for a medical and hope this goes ahead within the next 24 hours.
Leeds are still negotiating with Club Brugge over price but are confident of getting their man.
Leeds want the De Bock deal to be done before they face Ipswich this weekend.
De Bock left Club Brugge’s training camp yesterday to travel to England ahead of his switch to the Whites, Voetball Belgie report. He has already agreed personal terms.
De Bock is a left-back and will be the first player in the position which Leeds have bought permanently since Charlie Taylor left the club.
The defender has featured in the Champions League for Club Brugge, and won the Jupiler League title with the club in 2015/16.
At Leeds he will compete with Gaetano Berardi for a first team place.
De Bock will be Leeds’ first January signing following Yosuke Ideguchi and Aapo Halme, but he is the only one of the trio who is expected to play for the first team before now and the end of the season.
