The pair do not feature in the plans of current boss Garry Monk.
Leeds United’s Toumani Diagouraga applauds fans
The Sun are suggesting that the Leeds United careers of both Luke Murphy and Toumani Diagouraga are effectively over.
The report from The Sun yesterday cited the fact that both Diagouraga and Murphy, high up the squad list in regards to their numbers, have been left off the most recent programme by the club – as they struggle for regular first-team football at Leeds United.
Murphy has not featured in a Leeds matchday squad in the Championship at all this season, although has played in the League Cup.
Leeds’ Luke Murphy and Brighton’s James Wilson
French midfielder Diagouraga struggled on the opening game of the season against QPR and has not featured for the club at all since.
Leeds manager Garry Monk seems to prefer the young pair of Ronaldo Vieira and Kalvin Phillips in the middle of the park and the more experienced pair appear to have no long-term future at Leeds under the current manager.
It will however be interesting to see if either earn a reprieve because of captain Liam Bridcutt’s injury – although Leeds boss Monk does still have plenty of other options.
Diagouraga was a signing for Steve Evans and he has seemingly not converted well into Monk’s ideas. Murphy has been cast aside before, under Darko Milanic, but made his way back into the system.
But this might finally be the end for Murphy, as well as Diagouraga.
