Leeds United reportedly showed a serious interest in the former Grimsby Town striker, who joined Wigan Athletic instead.
Leeds United were one of several sides unwilling to meet Grimsby Town’s asking price for striker Omar Bogle, according to the Daily Mail.
Bogle eventually joined Leeds’ Championship rivals Wigan Athletic late on Tuesday night, with the fee said to be somewhere in between £1 million and £1.5 million.

The Whites, meanwhile, failed to add another out-and-out striker to their ranks, despite showing what the Daily Mail claims to have been a ‘serious interest’ in Bogle, along with Barnsley and Rotherham United.

Bogle caught the eye with 19 goals in 27 League Two outings for Grimsby, although Leeds’ reluctance is perhaps understandable considering the 23-year-old is in his first ever season in the Football League.
Prior to helping Grimsby to National League promotion last season, the Birmingham-born striker spent three seasons at Solihull Moors and had a short spell at Hinckley United before then.

Leeds had also been chasing a loan deal for West Ham United striker Ashley Fletcher, but the Hammers’ failure to add to their front line meant the Yorkshireman was not allowed to leave.
