Leeds United are said to be planning to keep their current squad together, rather than make additions in the new year.
Leeds have made a blistering start to the new campaign, with Marcelo Bielsa’s side current right in the thick of the promotion race.
However, Leeds are reportedly not expecting to invest much in January – with the main aim to keep the squad together.
The decision may not be a smart one, as although Leeds have made a wonderful start, the Championship is gruelling.
Marcelo Bielsa’s high pressing style is very demanding, with Leeds getting through much more running than many of their counterparts.
While wholesale changes clearly aren’t needed at Elland Road, a few additions could really have injected a freshness into Leeds’ squad.
The Whites are still short in some areas, and unless they get lucky with injuries, their lack of depth could be exposed later on in the campaign.
And Leeds may be unwise not to be planning to make many additions in January, as they could be jeopardising their chances of earning promotion, if fatigue does set in.
