Celtic are closing in on appointing Brendan Rodgers but are facing a last-gasp hijack attempt from Leeds United.
Brendan Rodgers may have a late decision to make with Leeds United now rivalling Celtic for his services.
That is according to a report from the Daily Record, who claim that Leeds have now launched a last-gasp move for Rodgers.
The Whites parted ways with Sam Allardyce after suffering relegation from the Premier League and are seeking a new boss.
It’s stated that 49ers Enterprises – who have now completed their takeover of Leeds – are going to ‘throw the kitchen sink’ at Rodgers.
A move to another mid-sized Premier League club is not in Rodgers’ plans amid interest from Crystal Palace.
Leeds think they can offer a completely different challenge though with 49ers Enterprises trying to take the Whites back to the Premier League.
Big money will now be on offer at Elland Road and the hope is that Rodgers can be tempted to West Yorkshire.

Brendan Rodgers to Celtic – the latest
Celtic lost manager Ange Postecoglou to Tottenham Hotspur last week and are targeting a replacement.
Few really expected Rodgers to be in the mix.
The Northern Irishman seemed to want some time out of the game after leaving Leicester City in April.
Add in that Rodgers made a rather acrimonious move from Celtic to Leicester in 2019 and a Parkhead return seemed out of the question.

Rumours have been ramping up in recent days though.
The Daily Mail reported late on Sunday that Celtic had held face-to-face talks with Rodgers over a return.
The Scottish Sun added on Tuesday that Rodgers was all set to take the Celtic job after holding positive talks.
This Leeds interest is a worry for Celtic fans, but we think the emotional pull of Glasgow will take Rodgers back to Parkhead after all.
