The Swedish defender could join the club permanently this month, but his parent club have the option to delay.
Leeds United will be hoping to get back to winning ways in the Championship this week. They succumbed to a 3-2 defeat against Barnsley in the league at the weekend, in a game they deserved little but a loss.
They were however missing the suspended Swedish star Pontus Jansson. The centre-back has immediately made himself a cult icon at Elland Road with his larger-than-life personality and brilliant performances alongside Kyle Bartley at the back for Leeds.

The fixture will also be a landmark one for his Leeds future. It will be his 22nd for Leeds this season, which will trigger a permanent £3.5 million move to Elland Road from Italian side Torino.
The Yorkshire Evening Post reports that personal terms are already agreed between the player and the club, so it seems this deal is on the brink of completion.
However, despite Torino having little influence over the deal now, they can delay it.

Leeds may have to wait until the summer to complete the move for Jansson, as Torino can delay the move until the end of the season if they wish.
Perhaps they will hope to convince him to stay in Italy after seeing his impact on English football.
But with a fee and personal terms agreed, it would appear only a matter of time before Jansson is a permanent fixture at Elland Road.
