Leeds United are reportedly keen to improve their loan deals.
According to the Daily Mail, Leeds United are hoping to make better use of the loan market after a series of disappointing moves last summer.
The Whites missed out on automatic promotion last week, losing 4-2 at home to Derby County to crash out of the playoffs in spectacular fashion.
Automatic promotion was thrown away, the playoffs proved to be a nightmare too, and now Leeds are fighting to keep hold of manager Marcelo Bielsa for another year.
It promises to be a huge summer for the direction of the club, and the Daily Mail claim that they already have one transfer plan in mind – get better in the loan market.
Leeds signed four players on loan last summer. One arrived from Manchester City in winger Jack Harrison, whilst three came in from Chelsea; goalkeeper Jamal Blackman, midfielder Lewis Baker and forward Izzy Brown.
Sadly, it proved to be a mixed bag for director of football Victor Orta. Harrison was the best of the bunch, hitting four goals and three assists whilst racking up 42 appearances under Bielsa.
The Chelsea trio were major flops though. Blackman suffered a major injury in November and had failed to displace Bailey Peacock-Farrell anyway, Baker had his loan torn up in January in order for him to join Reading, whilst Brown spent most of the season injured and managed just 11 minutes of Championship action.
Having seen loanees Mason Mount and Harry Wilson star for Derby last week, Leeds now seemingly want more from their loanees – and after those three disappointing Chelsea deals Orta struck, who can blame them.
