Leeds United could be closing in on a deal to sign left-back Kristian Pedersen.

German newspaper BILD reported a fortnight ago that Leeds were monitoring Pedersen’s situation at Union Berlin.

Pedersen is 23 and has just one year left on his contract.

Now a fresh report from BILD claims Pedersen is leaving to join a club in the English second division.

Leeds were the only team named as following Pedersen in either report.

The latest from BILD reports that Union have decided not to sell left-back Christopher Lenz next season, who has been out on loan.

The reason for this is because they need him to replace the outgoing Pedersen.

The 23-year-old has represented Denmark at under-23 level.

His arrival would spell bad news for Laurens De Bock, who has not impressed sign signing from Club Brugge in January.

Leeds also have youngster Tom Pearce, who they are trying to sign to a new deal, while Gaetano Berardi is also an option at left-back.
