Leeds United are interested in the 28-year-old defender.
Leeds United are interested in signing former Newcastle United ace Vurnon Anita, according to The Sun.
The 28-year-old is a free agent after being released by the Magpies this summer following a five-year spell at St James’s Park.
And The Sun reports that Leeds believe that they can persuade the Netherlands international to join Thomas Christiansen’s project at Elland Road.

The speculation about Anita – who can play both full-back positions, and midfield – comes on the same day as left-back Charlie Taylor sealed his move from the Whites to Burnley.
Anita, who has four caps for the Netherlands, played 24 Championship games last season as Newcastle won the division and, more importantly, promotion back to the Premier League.
Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani has enjoyed a busy summer in Yorkshire so far.
Three players have joined the Yorkshire club since Christiansen’s appointment last month – Mateusz Klich, Felix Wiedwald and Madger Gomes – and another one might be imminent.
Speaking to LUTV on Wednesday, the 44-year-old suggested that another arrival could be announced as early as Friday.
It remains to be seen whether Anita is that player or not.
