The FC Twente midfielder is said to have caught the eye of Leeds United and could be on the move this summer.
According to a report from Voetbal International, Leeds United could prise midfielder Mateusz Klich away from FC Twente this summer.
The 29-year-old only arrived at the Eredivisie side from German club Kaiserslautern last summer, but the report suggests he could be waving goodbye to his teammates before potentially heading to Elland Road.
There is no doubt Leeds could do with additional quality in the centre of the park, with skipper Liam Bridcutt struggling of late and Ronaldo Vieira and Kalvin Phillips too young to be relied on week in, week out.
The latter in particular has come in for plenty of criticism this season, with some Leeds fans feeling he is not of the sufficient quality for a promotion-chasing side.
The same cannot be said of Klich, who would represent a fine addition to Garry Monk’s squad.
The Polish international is able to score and create on a regular basis and his ability from set-pieces will see him challenge Pablo Hernandez for that role.
Last season Klich found the net on six occasions and given Leeds’ lack of goals from the centre of the park, his signing would be a big step in the right direction.
Leeds have a big summer ahead of them and it is up to Monk to bring in players who can ensure this season’s disappointment is the catalyst for a return to the top flight in 2018.
