The likes of Leeds United, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Derby County and Sheffield United have reportedly shown interest in Carlisle United’s Liam McCarron.
Leeds United are interested in Carlisle United’s talented winger Liam McCarron, who is also being watched by a host of clubs, according to a report.
The Daily Mail have claimed that 18-year-old McCarron is valued at £250,000 and is being watched by Wolves, Derby County and Sheffield United.
During the recently concluded season, League Two side Carlisle missed out on a playoff spot, with the versatile attacker, McCarron making 16 appearances during the course of the season.
Out of the clubs mentioned with McCarron’s name, Wolves and Sheffield United currently hold the ace cards because they are currently Premier League clubs.
Both Leeds and Derby, who finished in the Championship playoffs, missed out on promotion to the Premier League and they will be hoping to make their mark next term.
If McCarron were to leave the League Two side, it would be very difficult for the youngster to break into the starting XI of any of the teams that are seemingly interested in his services.
Therefore, perhaps staying in the football league is his best option because it means he will earn regular game time and with it build himself for the future.
Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa and Derby’s Frank Lampard have been known for giving youngsters a chance, with the latter, in particular, giving opportunities to relatively unknown players.
