According to The Daily Mail, Leeds United and Queens Park Rangers are among the clubs interested in signing Patrick Erras, who was wanted by Newcastle United last year.

The report has claimed that Leeds have already held preliminary talks over a move for Erras, who is out of contract at Nurnberg this summer.

QPR, Brentford, Bristol City and Blackburn Rovers have also made enquires about the 6ft 5in midfielder, according to the report.

The Daily Mail has claimed that Erras was wanted by Newcastle last year, and has added that a move to Leeds in the summer transfer window depends on Marcelo Bielsa’s side winning promotion to the Premier League.

Good signing for Leeds United?

Erras is an established player and is a very good midfielder who has played in the Bundesliga, although his experience has been more in the second division in Germany.

According to WhoScored, the 25-year-old has made 11 starts and six substitute appearances in the second division in Germany, scoring goals in the process.

Given that the midfielder was wanted by Newcastle last year, as reported by The Daily Mail, Leeds would be making a very good signing, especially as he will become a free agent.
