Leeds United are considering a move for Liverpool striker Divock Origi if they are unable to sign Odsonne Edouard from Celtic, according to The Mirror.

The report has claimed that Origi is open to leaving Liverpool in the summer transfer window in search of regular first-team football and wants to stay in the Premier League.

Leeds, who will play in the Premier League next season after winning automatic promotion from the Championship, have made an enquiry about signing the Belgium international striker, according to the report.

The report has further claimed that although Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa is ‘desperate’ to sign Celtic striker Edouard, he knows that there is a lot of competition for the Frenchman.

The Mirror has added that Leeds want to sign another Liverpool striker – Rhian Brewster – on a loan deal this summer.

Good plan from Leeds United?

Origi has failed to establish himself in the Liverpool starting lineup, but his goals and heroics against Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League in 2018-19 underline his quality and calibre.

A regular run in the team at Leeds could bring out the best in the 25-year-old Belgian.

As for Brewster, the 20-year-old striker would be a good third-choice striker in the squad and would provide valuable back-up to Patrick Bamford and Origi.
