According to The Daily Mail, Leeds United are among the clubs who are interested in Joe Hart, but he is joining Tottenham Hotspur instead.

It has been reported that Hart will move to Tottenham on a free transfer, and that the transfer will be announced today.

The former Manchester City goalkeeper will sign a two-year contract and will earn £50,000 per week as salary, according to the report.

The report has added that Leeds – who will play in the Premier League next season after winning automatic promotion from the Championship – discussed the possibility of signing Hart on a free transfer.

Celtic, Derby County and Blackburn Rovers also wanted the 33-year-old, who had offers from Turkey as well, according to the report.

Need for a new goalkeeper?

Leeds’s reported interest in Hart suggests that the West Yorkshire outfit are on the lookout for a new goalkeeper.

Kiko Casilla and Illan Meslier are the two main goalkeepers at Elland Road at the moment.

If Leeds want an experienced and established goalkeeper this summer, then it suggests that he will compete with Casilla for a place in the starting lineup, with Meslier to be the third choice despite his good performances in the final weeks of the past season in the absence of the Spaniard.
