Leeds United defender Gaetano Berardi’s training is going well, according to Phil Hay in the Athletic.
Berardi has not been seen at all this season, after he picked up an ACL injury just as Leeds secured promotion last term.
The defender was handed a contract extension to stay at Leeds and got specialist treatment on the problem over the summer.
Berardi has now returned to training this week and the latest reports are that he has done so without any problems.
That looks like great news for Leeds, who will be desperate to have Berardi back.
The Swiss international may not be a permanent starter at Elland Road now, but his return to the team will be celebrated.

It has been cruel that a player who featured so prominently in their promotion push still hasn’t been able to play in the top flight.
But the moment that Berardi makes his Premier League debut does seem to be edging closer and closer, with the Leeds man rapidly edging closer to full fitness.
