Leeds United are reportedly expecting to tie up the signing of Ashley Fletcher.

According to the Daily Mail, Leeds United expect to complete the signing of West Ham United attacker Ashley Fletcher before Tuesday’s transfer deadline.

The Whites suffered major embarrassment this afternoon, as non-league Sutton United dumped Garry Monk’s men out of the FA Cup with a 1-0 win.

Leeds will now look to add some new signings to their squad ahead of the transfer deadline, having so far failed to add any new faces during this month’s transfer window.

Another striker appears to be on Monk’s wish list despite having seen Chris Wood hit 20 goals this season, with Marcus Antonsson yet to really make a huge impact since a summer move from Kalmar.

Now, the Daily Mail report that Leeds expect to complete the signature of West Ham United striker Ashley Fletcher, with a loan deal until the end of the season in the pipeline.

Fletcher, 21, only joined West Ham from Manchester United over the summer, and whilst he’s flashed real ability with his pace and quick feet, he’s started just three games in all competitions this term.

Clearly one for the future, Fletcher could benefit from a loan move, and the Keighley-born striker appears to be on the verge of returning to West Yorkshire, with Fletcher allegedly keen to join a club of Leeds’ stature in the next 48 hours.

West Ham have been waiting to bring in a new striker before letting Fletcher go out on loan, and with a deal for Brentford’s Scott Hogan potentially close, Fletcher should be a Leeds player before the end of the transfer window.
