Leeds United play maker Pablo Hernandez’s current deal expires at the end of the season.
Hernandez’s current deal at Elland Road is due to expire at the end of the season, and there have been rising concerns that he could be set to move on.
However, Leeds officials are now said to be ‘hopeful’ of sealing a deal to keep Hernandez at the club.
The 32-year-old has previously suggested that staying with the Whites would interest him, despite their disappointing season.
Leeds look set to finish in mid-table, but Hernandez has still managed to stand out.
The former Swansea City playmaker has scored seven goals and claimed nine assists in all competitions this season, making him arguably Leeds’ most consistent performer.
Leeds will have to fend off interest from Birmingham City in Hernandez, as Garry Monk is said to be keen on a reunion with the Spaniard.
