Leeds United have seemingly been chasing Daniel James of Swansea City for much of the January transfer window.

According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds United are ‘confident’ of securing the signing of Swansea City winger Daniel James.

Leeds have been chasing James for much of the month so far, but they are yet to agree a price with the Welsh side.

James is a player who Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa has identified as a transfer target, and the Whites are of the belief that a deal is possible.

TeamTalk claim that Leeds are set to launch a £2.5 million offer for the winger, which falls short of Swansea’s public valuation.

However, there is a belief around Elland Road that Swansea could be forced into a sale, because they need to raise funds.

Swansea’s financial situation looks fairly bleak, and Leeds think that can use their financial muscle to move James away from the Liberty Stadium before the window closes next week.

If Leeds do add James to their ranks it should increase Bielsa’s side’s attacking options for the remainder of the season.
