Leeds United are reportedly keen on Irish goalkeeper Conor O’Malley.

According to the Irish Mirror, Leeds United are interested in signing St. Pat’s Athletic goalkeeper Conor O’Malley, with Peterborough United, Wigan Athletic and another unnamed Championship club keen.

The Whites have been active in the transfer market this summer, and manager Thomas Christiansen has already brought in one goalkeeper, having landed Felix Wiedwald from Werder Bremen.

Wiedwald figures to be a direct replacement for Robert Green as Leeds’ first-choice goalkeeper, who looks to be relegated to the bench despite a strong campaign last season.

Ross Turnbull has left the club, as has Marco Silvestri having joined Verona, whilst Bailey Peacock-Farrell could be loaned out as Leeds re-tool their goalkeeping options this summer.

Now, the Irish Mirror report that Leeds are interested in signing another goalkeeper, with St. Pat’s Athletic shot-stopper Conor O’Malley believe to be a target for the Whites.

O’Malley, who turns 23 today, joined St. Pat’s from Shamrock Rovers in 2015, and he has played in 19 of the club’s 24 league games this season, conceding 29 goals in the process.

The goalkeeper is now believed to be a target for Leeds having caught the eye this season, though a move to sign before next month’s transfer deadline would be a surprise unless Leeds let another goalkeeper leave.

However, it is noted that Leeds face competition from a Championship rival as well as League One sides Peterborough United and Wigan Athletic, meaning the Whites may have to move quickly to fend off those interested clubs.
