The Irish striker has been linked with a return to Elland Road.
Leeds United are in the race for Irish striker Robbie Keane, despite the player himself suggesting that was not the case earlier this week. That is according to a report from the Express. They claim that Leeds are attempting to bring him back to Elland Road this month on a free transfer – with Sunderland, Brighton and Preston North End also keen.
Keane himself told talkSPORT this week that he had offers from the Championship but that Leeds were not one of the teams to have been in touch.
Robbie Keane joins Leeds
But it seems that Leeds are now preparing a move for the player, which would bring him back to West Yorkshire.
Keane previously played for Leeds for one season back in 2001-02, after initially joining on loan from Inter Milan, before heading to Spurs in 2002.

He is currently a free agent after bringing to an end his successful stay in MLS with the LA Galaxy and is now hopeful of a move back to the UK.
Leeds are in need of a new striker to support Chris Wood, who has scored 19 goals this season, in his endeavours.
Keane, who is Republic of Ireland’s record goalscorer, would surely add goals to the persuasion even at the age of 36.
