Villarreal hope to loan him out to a La Liga side next season.
Leeds’ Alfonso Pedraza celebrates scoring their third goal
It is being reported in Spain that Leeds United have failed in their attempt to convince Villarreal to loan them Alfonso Pedraza again next season.
It is reported by Spanish publication AS that Leeds were hopeful of having Pedraza on loan again next season. However, they have been told that will not be happening. Villarreal now plan to loan him out to a La Liga side or for him to remain at the club going forward.
Leeds concluded a deal to sign the Spanish talent in January. He arrived after a brilliant first half of the season on loan with Segunda Liga side Lugo.
He also had the option to join on a permanent deal should Leeds earn promotion. The Yorkshire Evening Post reported that fee as being in the region of £8.5 million, but they came up short and Leeds can no longer afford such a fee.

Villarreal simply do not believe playing in the Championship is good enough preparation for the Spanish under-21 international and Leeds will be moving on to other targets.
Pedraza featured 14 times for Leeds, scoring just the one goal for the club.
