Belgian outlet Het Nieuwsblad claim Leeds will have to table a ‘jackpot’ to sign Club Brugge attacker Charles De Ketelaere – with the report stating that even £26million might not be enough to sign the wonderkid.

De Ketelaere, 21, has been in stunning form over the last 12 months. Indeed, he has contributed in each of Brugge’s three consecutive title wins, but the last season he has produced form that has been remarkable.

The eight-time Belgium international had a hand in 28 goal involvements last season, scoring 18 and creating 10 more. That is despite playing as a striker, as a 10 or even out wide despite his lofty frame.

Fabrizio Romano reported this week that De Ketelaere was a target for Leeds as a possible replacement for Raphinha – though Milan are also keen. Now, Het Nieuwsblad have given an update regarding his price tag.

They claim that Brugge will want a ‘jackpot’ fee for De Ketelaere. The report states that Brugge might not even accept a fee in the region of £26million for De Ketelaere, in the coming weeks.

Leeds need a striker, but they also need a replacement for Raphinha with the Brazilian looking more likely than ever to go – despite Barcelona’s inability to afford him. De Ketelaere can operate in both areas.

That makes him the ideal signing, and even at £26million plus, he solves two issues and might end up saving Leeds some cash. Whether Leeds think he is good enough to start week in, week out, is another question.
