According to Foot Mercato, Leeds United are set to hold talks with the representatives of goalkeeper Illan Meslier to thrash out a three-year deal.
It’s been quite the weekend for Leeds, as they won promotion to the Premier League on Friday evening and were then named champions less than 24 hours later.
Leeds beat Derby County 3-1 on Sunday to truly celebrate in style, and Marcelo Bielsa will soon look to plan for next season.
Loanee Helder Costa is already signed up permanently, and it now seems that goalkeeper Meslier is the next priority.
Leeds had a compulsory purchase clause in Meslier’s loan from Lorient, which would be activated if the club won promotion to the top flight.
Meslier will allegedly sign a thee-year deal, and the Whites will meet his representatives in the coming days to finalise the terms.

Meslier, 20, has filled in admirably for Kiko Casilla of late, and it would be little surprise to see the Frenchman serve as Leeds’ first-choice stopper in the Premier League.
The giant Frenchman has real potential, and getting his long-term deal sorted just days after promotion would be another cause for celebration at Elland Road.
