According to TEAMtalk, Leeds United will be beating both Derby County and Middlesbrough if they can force through a deal for Liverpool winger Ryan Kent.

The Whites confirmed Kemar Roofe’s exit on Tuesday, with the forward moving over to Belgium in order to join Anderlecht in a shock move.

Marcelo Bielsa now needs attacking reinforcements before Thursday’s transfer deadline, and it seems that a winger is the focus rather than a natural striker.

Liverpool ace Kent is the top target, and it’s thought that a £7.5million move is close, in a move which would see Derby County and Middlesbrough lose out to the Whites.

It’s claimed that both Championship clubs wanted Kent, whilst Crystal Palace and Burnley were also interested, but Leeds are set to win the race.

The 22-year-old hit six goals and six assists for Rangers in the Scottish Premiership last season, and whilst the Gers have been desperate to bring him back to Ibrox, Elland Road looks likely to be his new home.

With Kent on one side and Jack Harrison on the other, Leeds can cause mayhem down the flanks, and it would also see Pablo Hernandez take a central role more permanently.

It also means that Patrick Bamford will be relied upon heavily if no other striker arrives, and some fans may worry about that – but at least they have beat Championship rivals Derby and Boro to his signature.
