Leeds United appear to be closing in on the signing of Manchester United winger Daniel James ahead of the transfer deadline.
ESPN report that James is ‘concerned’ about staying at Old Trafford because he thinks he will now be pushed down the pecking order.
Jadon Sancho is in as a bona fide winger, whilst Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival means Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood are likely to spent more time on the flanks.
That all pushes James out of the picture under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and edges him ever closer to joining Leeds United before the transfer deadline.
Leeds have been chasing James for years; fans will remember how James was at Elland Road and ready to join from Swansea City in January 2019.
Swansea failed to sign off on that deal though, leaving Leeds heartbroken as James ended up joining rivals Manchester United just months later.

The 23-year-old is now back on Leeds’ wish list as Marcelo Bielsa chases another winger to support Jack Harrison and Raphinha.
The Athletic report this evening that James is set for a medical with Leeds, and is on his way over to West Yorkshire tonight.
This brings an end to Leeds’ chase of James after all, and let’s hope the Welshman is worth the wait for Bielsa and co.
