Leeds United could land Josh King for £16 million, the Telegraph suggest, but Aston Villa are set to make a bid.

Leeds have been linked with the Bournemouth forward in the Daily Express, but they were claiming that the Whites would have to break their transfer record and pay £30 million to bring him in.

The Telegraph now report that this isn’t the case, with Bournemouth looking at a more modest sum, as King only has a year left on his deal.

But Leeds could face missing out unless they get a move on, as Villa are about to step up their chase for the 28-year-old.

Villa are desperate to sign a striker this summer, after missing out on Callum Wilson, and King appears to be firmly on their radar now.

With Villa about to make a bid for the Norwegian it now remains to be seen whether Leeds will respond by stepping up their own chase.

The Whites have reduced their need for a striker by bringing in Rodrigo already this summer, but King could play anywhere across the front-three and would offer them even more depth in attack.
