According to The Athletic, Leeds are still keen to sign Rangers forward Ryan Kent, and the Scottish side’s financial situation provides encouragement.
What’s the story?
Well, much has been made about Leeds and their admiration for Kent.
The 24-year-old was the subject of a bid from Marcelo Bielsa’s side back in August, with Steven Gerrard firmly stating he wasn’t for sale (Sky Sports).
Now, things could potentially be different.
The Athletic believe Rangers need to raise £14m to ensure they remain financially healthy, having invested £40m over the last three years with few outgoings.
Rangers won’t want to lose Kent, but alongside Alfredo Morelos, the ex-Liverpool winger is Gerrard’s most valuable asset.
The Athletic describe that £14m gap as something which must be taken into consideration this summer as clubs circle Ibrox for Gerrard’s best players.
Ryan Kent would thrive at Leeds

One player Kent is very similar to is Jack Harrison.
The 24-year-old is also a winger, who enjoys cutting in on his right foot after coming in from the left flank.
Harrison impressively scored eight goals and provided eight assists in the Premier League last season, so Bielsa’s methods clearly work for him.

The Argentine is seemingly keen to have a Harrison 2.0 at Elland Road.
Bielsa is said to be desperate to sign Kent.
On the basis of how Harrison plays under him, you can understand why Bielsa thinks he’ll be able to help Kent flourish.
If Leeds can pull this off, it would be among the deals of the summer.
