Leeds United are reportedly pursuing Oxford United winger Kemar Roofe.
According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds United are set to make a move for Oxford United forward Kemar Roofe after his superb season.
The Whites will be making moves in the transfer market this summer having appointed Garry Monk as their new manager, and it’s believed that Monk wants to bring in some pace in the final third.
Whilst Manchester United’s Ashley Fletcher is wanted up front, the Yorkshire Evening Post also believe that Kemar Roofe is on Leeds wish list.
The 23-year-old attacker was on the books with West Bromwich Albion as a youngster, and after a host of loan deals, he joined Oxford permanently last summer.
Capable of playing as a winger or as a striker, Roofe became one of the Football League’s top players, scoring 18 goals in League Two as Oxford won promotion to League One.
Another eight goals in other competitions made Roofe a star, and he even walked away with the Sky Bet League Two player of the year award after a superb season at the Kassam Stadium.
Now though, Leeds are believed to be in pursuit of Roofe, and are ready to make a move for the player in a bid to add some firepower in the final third.
Oxford will be reluctant to lose Roofe having won promotion to League One, but with Championship clubs seemingly keen, they may face a tough task this summer.
