Leeds United are reportedly keen on Norwich City winger Sergi Canos.

According to Sky Sports, Leeds United are keen on a deal for Norwich City winger Sergi Canos, but he may prefer a move back to former club Brentford.

Canos, 19, left Barcelona for Liverpool in 2013 having spent time in the famed La Masia academy, but made just one appearance for the Reds.

The wide man spent the 2015-16 season on loan at Brentford, notching an impressive seven goals and four assists before earning a move to Norwich City.

Despite the Canaries spending big money on Canos – £2.5million according to BBC Sport – the winger has remarkably started just one Championship game this season, and has made only six appearances in all competitions.

Canos needs to play first-team football, and just weeks after The Express reported that Rangers were interested in landing him, Sky Sports claim that Leeds United are now looking to sign the wide man.

Leeds secured the signature of one Spanish attacker today by tying Pablo Hernandez down to a permanent deal, but with Hadi Sacko only on loan from Sporting Lisbon, and manager Garry Monk keen to strengthen his side to aid their battle for promotion, Canos has emerged as a top target.

However, the report states that Brentford have held initial talks to re-sign Canos, and the Spaniard would allegedly prefer a move back to Griffin Park during this month’s transfer window.

A tricky winger with creativity and an eye for goal, Canos could be a smart addition for Leeds and great competition for Sacko on the right hand side, but Norwich may want him to play guaranteed first-team football if they are to loan him out, and Brentford may offer him a better chance of that.
